🔥Hot Take 🔥: Can coconut oil pulling really brighten your smile? Here’s what science says! Natural doesn’t always mean magical results for your pearly whites.
🎯 Reality Check: Hmmm 🤨
📝 Why: While coconut oil pulling (swishing oil in your mouth) is generally safe and may freshen your breath, there’s little solid evidence it “whitens” teeth. Most major dental health bodies, including the British Dental Association (BDA) and the American Dental Association (ADA), say there isn’t enough research to support it as a reliable teeth whitener or substitute for standard brushing and flossing. “There is no reliable scientific evidence that oil pulling whitens teeth or improves oral health beyond what regular brushing and flossing do,” notes the ADA. It’s fine to use if you enjoy it, but don’t ditch your toothpaste!
