📝 Why: There’s no scientific basis for saying the placenta is almost entirely from the man! The placenta forms from the embryo, which contains equal DNA from both parents. The woman’s body actually grows the placenta, and it embeds in her uterus. Experts agree: “The placenta is a fetomaternal organ derived from both the fetus (which includes paternal and maternal genetic material) and the maternal endometrium.” (Cunningham et al., Williams Obstetrics).
